Pasco Palms Preserve, located in New Port Richey, offers a short trail through its 116 acres of wetlands, hardwood pines, salt marshes, mangrove swamps and tidal flats.

This is a quick and easy hike. With a mix of sun and shade, the trail is approximately .36 miles out and back, and takes about 10 minutes to complete.

At the end of the trail, along with the swinging chair, is a viewing deck. The viewing deck has stairs only, no ramp. Take note, the view from the viewing deck may be obscured by trees.

You will find two benches at Pasco Palms Preserve. One is located just past the parking lot at the beginning of the trail, and the other is closer to the end of the trail.

The preserve has one covered picnic table available, which is located along the trail. There is no grill provided, so be sure to bring along ready-to-eat food for your meal at the park.

There is a bike rack provided in the parking lot.

Follow the trail to the end to come upon the swinging chair, just beside the viewing deck. It’s a nice spot to take a moment to enjoy the outdoors.

Additional Information

Parking: The parking lot is small, but this is a low-traffic trail and parking should not be an issue. The handicapped parking spot is paved, while the rest of the lot is gravel/shell.
No Restrooms: There are no restrooms available at Pasco Palms Preserve.
Dogs: There is no signage to indicate the dog policy, upon calling the contact phone number, we were told that leashed dogs are permitted here. Be sure to bring along your own waste baggies as none are provided.
While this a nice trail, it is very short. It’s a good spot for folks living nearby to take a quick walk in nature.
