Iron Bridge Day Use Area Withlacoochee State Forest

Nothing fancy here, the kayak launch is a simple designated spot on the riverbank. Drive up, unload, go park, and then head off for a peaceful paddle on the beautiful Withlacoochee River..

On our last visit, a few months after the 2024 hurricanes, there was only one picnic table available. There’s no grills at this location, so you’ll need to bring along ready-to-eat foods for you meal at the park.

Grab your bug spray and head out on the trails. Remember, hunting is allowed in the Withlacoochee Forest; you’ll want to check hunting dates, and if you choose to hike during hunting season, be sure to wear brightly colored clothing.

Iron Bridge Day Use Area is a nice spot to spend a relaxing afternoon fishing. Remember to check licensing requirements before dropping your line.

Additional Information:
•There are no restroom facilities at this location.
•Leashed dogs welcome, waste bags NOT provided
•You will need to drive down a dirt road to access this park; we’ve had no problems navigating the
dirt road in our car on our multiple visits. Remember to take it slow and watch for ruts – also
note, the main dirt road has off-road trails crossing it, make sure you stick to the main road.
