Located in a residential neighborhood in Tarpon Springs, the
77-acre North Anclote River Nature Park is a great place to
spend a few hours enjoying some time outdoors. A very well maintained park, it’s a popular spot with locals for taking a
walk with Fido, going on a bike ride, fishing, or some fun time
for the kids at the playground.

Located just beside the parking lot, the playground has swings, and 2 jungle gyms. There are two picnic tables in this area, and a water fountain outside the playground restroom.

The park has two picnic tables near the playground area, and a few more dotted around the park in various locations. There are no grills here, so you’ll want to bring ready-to-eat foods.

You can take a break or enjoy the views on the benches that are scattered along the trails.

The main trail ends at the park’s ADA-accessible viewing dock. Here you can find a few benches, a picnic table, and a bike rack.

The park has a fishing pier(don’t forget to check the license requirements). To get to the pier, follow the canoe/kayak launch trail past the launch site. You will also find a picnic table and a bike rack at the pier.

Walk or bike the crushed shell trails at North Anclote River Nature Park. The main trail is out-and-back, with a mix of sun and shade, while the small side trails are mostly shaded. While roaming the trails you may hear the faint sound of traffic in the distance, but it won’t spoil the peace and tranquility of the park.

The park has two restrooms available. One is by the playground and the other is along the canoe/kayak launch trail.

You can explore the Anclote River from the park’s kayak launch. However, be aware that it is about a half-mile trek to the launch, so you may want to bring a cart.

Leashed dogs are welcome at North Anclote River Nature Park. You will find a dog waste station with baggies at the trailhead entrance.

You can take a book or leave a book at the park’s Free Little Library, which is located near the playground.
